Wall installation made from hundreds of sheets of notebook paper. The notebook paper is representative of the letters incarcerated folks use to communicate with their loved ones. This is an interactive installation piece where guests can write how they were impacted by the exhibition

When a parent goes to jail, the entire family has to redevelop. The incarcerated parent has to learn how to parent from behind bars, the children have to grow up without the presence of essential parental figures, and other loved ones adjust their lives to help take care of the children. Everyone is learning to walk again, but in a different way due to the prison system. Doss was a student of artist, Kenturah Davis, and was inspired by Davis to explore text in a way that was unique to her subject. The text and pictures on the walker are letters, drawings, and memories of loved ones impacted by having an incarcerated parent or loved one.

Emergency Contact, 2023 Mixed Media, Audio, Glitter, Acrylic, on Telephone

Phone calls are essential elements to incarcerated individuals, as it serves as their gateway to the world outside of prison. Doss' brother Berton Booker called her his "life line", as she was one of his main points of contact while he was incarcerated. The phone also includes audio from Berton. The piece represents the urgency of communication for the well being of incarcerated individuals.
